Corvallis School District Theaters is looking for volunteers to serve on the Theater Diversity Advisory Committee (TDAC). TDAC will be a committee recruited from district staff, student representatives, community members, and alumni coming from underrepresented backgrounds and/or experience in anti-racist work to advise the theater department’s play selection, casting, and diversity and equity efforts
“As the Corvallis School District continues its work to center the experience of our historically underrepresented students, the time is right to begin this work in our CSD Theaters Department,” shared Assistant Superintendent Melissa Harder. She will be joined by Equity Coordinator Marcianne Rivero Koetje as staff liaisons to the advisory committee.
Participants do not need to be involved in the theater to serve on the committee. The advisory committee will meet at least three times during the year. Applications for this new committee will be accepted from April 23 through May 8, 2021. Applicants will be notified the week of May 10 and will meet shortly thereafter to begin planning for the upcoming school year.
