Choir
Our choir students develop healthy vocal technique, ensemble awareness, musicianship, confidence, and expression across a wide range of musical styles and traditions. Students can progress from early singing experiences to advanced ensembles, festivals, and performances. Our high school choirs build on this districtwide foundation with a tradition that includes four OSAA State Choir Championships.
Guitar
Our guitar students build technique, musical literacy, listening skills, and independence through individual and ensemble playing. Guitar offers an accessible entry point into music while providing a strong foundation for accompaniment, arranging, composition, songwriting, and performance across many musical styles.
Songwriting
Our songwriting students turn ideas, observations, and lived experiences into original music. Through lyric writing, melody, harmony, revision, collaboration, and performance, students develop an authentic creative voice and learn how songs communicate meaning to an audience.
Mariachi
Our growing Mariachi program develops students as instrumentalists, vocalists, and ensemble members within a rich living tradition. The program strengthens continuity for bilingual students from elementary through high school while building connections among music, language, history, family, identity, and community. Support from a CPSF IMAGINE grant is helping us expand access to Mariachi instruments and create more opportunities for students across the district.
Participation and Performance
Students may participate through curricular choirs, guitar classes and ensembles, songwriting experiences, Mariachi, festivals, coffee houses, songwriter showcases, community events, and collaborative performances. Offerings and entry points vary by school, grade level, and year.
